Cozy Crochet Striped Blanket Pattern — Full Lapghan Tutorial & Color Sequence

Make a cozy, striped crochet blanket perfect for snuggling or layering on a bed. This lapghan uses a textured Double Front Post Cluster (DFPC) stitch combined with groups of double crochets to create a subtle raised stripe pattern in cream, blue and tan. Below you’ll find materials, stitch notes, the stitch repeat, and the full row-by-row color sequence to reproduce the same lapghan.

YO and go back under the same exact front post and grab up another loop — 5 loops on the hook.

Multiples

Pattern multiple: 6 + 5. This means to DCFS in sets of 6 until you reach your desired width, then DCFS 5 more to finish the foundation row.

To start

For crib size: DCFS 119

For lapghan size (this sample): DCFS 125

If you prefer to begin with a starting chain instead of DCFS, add +1 to the counts (crib = 120, lapghan = 126), then work a row of DCs starting in the 3rd chain from the hook and continue with Row 1.

ch 2 and turn.

Row 1

*DC in next st. DFPC on post of next stitch. DC in next stitch. Sk a st and DC 3 into next. Sk a st *

Repeat across the row. DC in ending stitch. ch 2 and turn.

Row 2

The ch 2 counts as your first stitch of the row.

*Skip a st and DC 3 into next stitch. Sk a st. DC into next. DFPC on post of next stitch. DC into next.* Repeat across the row. DC in ending stitch. ch 2 and turn.

Row 3

The turning chain counts as your first DC here.

*DC in next st (this is the 1st of the 3 DCs). DFPC on post of next stitch. DC in next/last DC of the 3-stitch group.* Repeat across the row.

At the end of the row after you skip a st and DC 3 into next: CH 1 and DC in ending Ch 2.

Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for the textured striping pattern.
