Crochet Rose Trellis Doily

Materials:
Size “0” hook
Size “10” thread in a neutral color, (a foliage color and a floral color – for embellishments)
notes:
dtr – double treble crochet – yo 3x, insert hook where indicated, draw up a loop, (yo, draw through 2 loops) until 1 loop remains on hook
pattern:
ch 4, join w/ sl st to form ring
Rnd 1: sl st in ring, ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join w/ sl st to 3rd beg ch
Rnd 2: ch 4, (dc, ch 1) in ea dc around, join w/ sl st to 3rd beg ch; 12 ch-sps
Rnd 3: ch 5, (dc, ch 2) in ea dc around, join w/ sl st to 3rd beg ch; 12 ch-sps
Rnd 4: sl st in next sp, ch 1, 3 sc in same sp and in ea sp around, sl st in 1st sc; 36 sts
Rnd 5: (ch 10, sk next sc, sl st in next sc) 17 times, ch 5, dtr in same sc as joining from prev Rnd; 18 loops
Rnd 6-11: (ch 10, sc in next loop) 17 times, ch 5, dtr in dtr in prev. Rnd.
Rnd 12: sl st in loop just finished, ch 1, 5 sc in same loop, 10 sc in ea loop around, 5 sc in loop to finish partial group, join w/ sl st to 1st sc; 180 sc
Rnd 13: ch 4, (dc, ch 1) in each sc around, join w/ sl st to 3rd beg ch.
Finish off.
Weave in ends.
Optional embellishments:
Pin to blocking board (trust me)
With Green, work vines (with chain stitches, and occasional slip stitches to keep in place) and leaves randomly on doily (I crocheted the leaves separately and sewed them on.)
With floral color, works rosebuds separately and sew on where desired.
Leaf pattern: ch 4, work 3 dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 3, work cluster, finish off
Rosebud pattern: ch 21, dc in 5th ch from hook, *sk 1 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, rep from * across. Finish off. Keeping the ends to the outside, roll piece up to form rose bud. Use loose ends to fasten piece in coil.
