How to Make a Yarn Tree Ornament
Creating yarn tree ornaments is a delightful way to add a personal touch to your holiday decor. Not only is it a fun and creative project, but it also brings a cozy and festive vibe to your home. To make yarn tree ornaments, you can use different colors and textures of yarn to give each ornament its unique character. Whether you opt for traditional green yarn for a classic look or sparkly metallic yarn for a modern twist, the possibilities are endless. You can experiment with different shapes and sizes, like pom-poms, tassels, or braids, to make your ornaments stand out. Hang them on your tree, use them as gift toppers, or create a beautiful garland – let your creativity flow and enjoy the magic of crafting your very own yarn tree ornaments.
1
Make Loops
Holding your hand flat, wrap green yarn around four of your fingers 15 times. Slip the loops off your fingers and use a piece of yarn to tie the loops together. Repeat, wrapping the yarn around three fingers and then around two fingers, so that you have a total of three loops of yarn.
2
Cut Loops
Cut the loops opposite of where they are tied.
3
Stacking Cut Loops
Lay the largest group of yarn flat on a work surface. Place the middle-size grouping on top of it, going the opposite direction, and glue it in place.
4
Stack Final Set of Loops
Place the smallest tassel on top of the middle tassel, going in the opposite direction, and glue it in place.
5
Decorate Trees
Cut stars and ornaments from fabric and glue to the front of the tree. Glue a loop of yarn to the top for hanging.
