How to make a DIY Snowman Gnome
Materials:
- Jumbo Craft Sticks
- Wooden Snowflakes
- Cotton Mop Head
- Iridescent Glitter Glue
- Rhinestones (we used self-adhesive rhinestones)
- Craft Paint in White, Black, and Orange
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Gingham Ribbon (or your ribbon of choice)
- Scissors
- Paintbrush
- Ruler
Instructions:
To create the Snowman’s hat, line up five jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim additional jumbo craft sticks to the width of the hat and attach the cut sticks across the five craft sticks with a glue gun and glue sticks.
Flip the hat over and glue one jumbo craft stick to the hat base to create the brim.
TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
Paint the entire snowman’s hat with black craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.
Paint a wooden snowflake with white craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.
Apply iridescent glitter glue to the surface of the snowflake.
Trim a jumbo wooden craft stick into a three-inch long carrot shape with scissors.
Paint the carrot nose with orange craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.
Cut approximately 24 individual strings from the cotton mop head with scissors.
Flip the Snowman hat over and attach 12 cotton mop head strings along the base of the bottom wooden craft stick with a glue gun and glue sticks.
Glue 12 additional cotton mop head strings on a second layer.
Measure and cut a six inch length of ribbon (we used black and white gingham).
Attach the ribbon hat band to the front of the hat, just above the brim with a glue gun and glue sticks, then secure the ribbon ends to the back of the hat.
Flip the hat back over and attach the carrot nose to the Snowman’s beard with a glue gun and glue sticks to create a gnome snowman.
To finish, glue the wooden snowflake to the hat band. Accent the snowflake with a clear self-adhesive rhinestone.
