Crochet Lego Block Assembly

Joining the sides:

  • To attach the brick pieces together place two pieces right side together and use a row of sc stitches down the seam.
  • Repeat this until all the pieces have been joined together – except for one seam.
  • Turn the brick out the right way through the open seam.

Attaching the studs:

  • Cut out round pieces of cardboard (4cm / 1 ½”) to act as the shape for the top and bottom of each stud (6 studs so 12 pieces in total).
  • Place a cardboard round in the middle of one of the stud sections and using the long length of wool still attached, weave it around the edge of the crochet piece. Pull to tighten slightly but do not fasten off.
  • Place toy stuffing into the stud on top of the cardboard round and place another cardboard round on top to enclose the wadding, tighten the loose long length of wool to secure. Fasten off. Repeat another 5 times.
  • Sew studs to the top of the brick.

Once completed add stuffing to the brick through the open seam, if using as a doorstop add the weight now also. I used Wadding and playsand for this, but you coul also use gravel, dried lentils and pulses, or rice – anything that provides enough weight really.
