MATERIAL

Schachenmayr Catania 125m/50 g, crochet hook C, 2 black beads or a pair of safety eyes, poly- fil, yarn needle.

sc=single crochet

sl st= slip stitch

Rnd= round

dc= double crochet

dec = decrease stitch (two single crochets together)

inc = increase stitch (two single crochets into one stitch)

EGG

Rnd 1: 7 sc into Magic Ring

Rnd 2: inc 7 times (14 sts)

Rnd 3: sc in each of next 14 sts

Rnd 4: *sc in next st, inc* (21 sts)

Rnd 5: sc in each of next 21 sts

Rnd 6: *sc in each of next 2 sts, inc* (28 sts)

Rnd 7: sc in each of next 28 sts

Rnd 8: *sc in each of next 3 sts, inc* (35 sts)

Rnd 9-15: sc in each of next 35 sts

Rnd 16: *dec, sc in each of next 5 sts* (30 sts)

Rnd 17: sc in each of next 30 sts

Rnd 18: *dec, sc in each of next 4 sts* (25 sts)

Rnd 19: *dec, sc in each of next 3 sts* (20 sts)

Stuff the egg.

Rnd 20: *dec, sc in each of next 2 sts* (15 sts)

Rnd 21-22: *dec*.

Cast off.

EARS

R 1: starting at the center, chain 11 stitches

R 2: dc in the 4th ch from hook and each of next 6 sts, 5dc in the next st,

working in other side of the base ch: dc in each of next 7sts, sl st.

Cast off leaving a long tail for sewing.

HAT

Rnd 1: 12 dc in a magic circle

Rnd 2: inc 12 times (24 sts)

Rnd 3: *inc, dc in next st* (36 sts)

Rnd 4: *inc, dc in each of next 2 sts* (48 sts)

BASKET

Rnd 1: 12 dc in a magic circle

Rnd 2: inc 12 times (24 sts)

Rnd 3: *inc, dc in next st* (36 sts)

Rnd 4: *dc in the next st, popcorn stitch in the next st*

Popcorn Stitch:

4 dc in the next st, drop the loop from the hook and insert the hook into the first st (of four dc´s),

grab the dropped loop and pool it through the st.

Rnd 5: dc in each of next st around. Cast off.

FINISHING

Sew ears on the hat.

Sew hat on the egg.

Fix eyes.

Embroider mouth and nose with black yarn.

Sew basket to the egg.
