Instructions
Cut a strip of the blue fabric that is large enough to cover halfway up the cup and be able to fold inside the cup by about ¼-inch. Then use hot glue to glue it in place. Try to keep it nice and tight so there are no wrinkles.
Cut the hat template out, then cut the center out of the template.
Place the cutout template on the red felt and pin it in place. Then cut out the felt around the template. Then carefully cut the center hole out. We will be using that round center later to make sure it is cut out in one piece.
Cut out 3 strips of white and 3 strips of red felt that are about an inch wide. Then cut those strips in half. Depending on the size of your cup, you may need more or less, or longer strips. The half strips need to be long enough to reach from the top of the blue fabric to the top/bottom of the cup.
Use hot glue to glue the strips to each other, slightly overlapping. You want to alternate red and white. When done, it needs to be able to wrap all the way around the cup.
Use hot glue to glue the red and white stripes to the cup. Glue just slightly over the top of the blue fabric.
Now use the scissors to trim off any extra. Then fold the felt over and glue it to the top/bottom of the cup. Then take that felt red circle and glue it over the top of the ends.
Carefully slide the red cutout felt down over the stripes. Glue in place right where the stripes and blue fabric come together to make a hat brim.
Cut a piece of the blue ribbon long enough to go all the way around the cup. Glue it in place over the red felt hat brim.
Cut a piece of fake fur in kind of a triangle shape. It needs to be large enough to go from under the brim to the bottom of the cup. Glue in place.
Glue the wood bead to the center of the beard just under the brim of the hat.
The last step is to glue stars onto the blue ribbon. My stars are pinkish red on one side and silver on the other. I glued them so the sliver is showing. Try to space them evenly.
Display as desired.
