Football coaster template

Football trivet template

Print and cut out the football coaster template.
Place it on the back of the coaster and trace it with a Sharpie.

Cut out.

Print and cut out the two trivet templates and tape them together to form a large football.

Trace the template on the back of one of the placemats and cut out the shape.

Line up the template over the back of each football and use a paper piercer or needle mark the ends of the football's laces.

Mark those holes with a Sharpie so you can easily find them while stitching.

To add the laces, begin with the long stitch down the center.

Then go back and add the short stitches over the long stitch.

Follow the Sharpie spots you marked on the back of the coasters.

Repeat with the trivet.

To hide the stitching on the back of the coasters and trivet, we are going to glue them to felt.
Use a hot glue gun around the edges of the coaster and press onto a piece of felt.
Once dry, trim the felt to the size of the cork football.
The trivet will require two pieces of felt.

Glue one piece to the back of the trivet then line up a second piece right next to it.

These DIY football coasters and trivet are pretty generic making them great for any college football or pro football games you and your friends may watch.

If you're a die hard for a specific team you can easily customize these with a color scheme.

You can even stitch the name of the team on the trivet to further personalize it.
