Have you ever tried making DIY Toilet Paper Apples? It's a fun and creative craft project that's perfect for autumn or anytime you want to add a touch of whimsy to your home decor. It's a simple and charming way to get crafty and bring a bit of seasonal cheer into your home. Happy crafting!

Supplies
Toilet paper roll (we used a standard size roll; if you are using a double roll you may need to add a few inches onto the circle diameter)
Fabric (20 inch circle for each apple)
Sticks or twigs
Green Felt
Double-sided tape or glue
Plastic bag (optional)
Directions
Step 1
Measure a 20-inch diameter circle on your fabric. Cut out.

Step 2
Place the fabric circle with the wrong side facing up. Center the toilet paper roll in the middle of the fabric circle, with the center of the tube facing up.

Pull the fabric up from opposite sides of the circle and tuck into the middle of the cardboard tube.

Then continue gathering the fabric and tucking it into the middle of the tube in the open center.

Helpful Tip: With my thin cotton fabric, it wasn’t staying in completely. I did take a few straight pins and stuck it through the fabric into the cardboard tube to secure the fabric.
Step 3
Cut a stick or twig to be a good size for your apple stem. I actually used a couple pieces of mulch for one stem, and a larger stick for another stem.

Stick the stem in the middle, pushing the fabric down underneath.
I stuffed a plastic bag into the tube to hold the fabric in place and to support the sticks that I put in as the stems.

Step 4
Cut out a leaf shape from a scrap piece of green felt.

Tape the felt leaf to the top of the apple, tucking and end of the leaf into the stem and core.
Alternatively, you could glue or pin the leaf in place.
Helpful Tips
The thicker the fabric, the more difficult it will be to tuck it into the middle of the pool noodle. A thin quilters cotton is best.
Instead of sticks or twigs, you could use craft sticks, wine corks or dowels as the stem.
Instead of felt leaves, you could use fabric leaves, faux floral leaves or even craft foam leaves.
After apple season is over, you can easily transform the toilet paper rolls into pumpkins by switching out the fabric to an orange or flannel fabric.
