Finishing: Sew in all ends securely on chosen WS. Optionally add a fringe to one or both ends of bookmark in each SC st (i.e. at the base of the st for the bottom of the bookmark and at the top of the st for the top of the bookmark).
To add a fringe to SC st: Cut a strand of yarn that is the preferred fringe length when folded. Fold the strand in half, so that there is equal length yarn tail on each side of the fold. Insert crochet hook through the SC, then insert the hook through the centre of the folded yarn (in between the right and left yarn tail). Use the hook to pull the folded loop of yarn through the SC. Use fingers to insert and pull the two tails through the middle of the loop. Pull the yarn tails gently and evenly until the fringe is securely attached to the SC.
