Diy Beachy Decor

I started out by washing and drying a glass jar

Then giving the jar 2-3 coats of chalk paint, letting each coat dry thoroughly before adding the next.

Next, cut I out the new adhesive silkscreen stencil chosen to put on the beachy décor jar. I thought that seashell stencils would be easy to find, but these were the only ones that I could find. Lucky they were small enough to fit on the jar.

These stencils worked pretty well though because they were more flexible and adhered to the jar. Once I had the three stencils in position on the jar, I used white acrylic paint and a stencil brush.

Gently peel them off and washing the stencils and brush with hot soapy water immediately. Because I want to be able to use these stencils again and they are a little different then my regular stencils that can be soaked and scrubbed if needed. They are more fragile.

After the jar was completely dry, I used some sandpaper to scuff up the paint on my DIY beachy décor jar to give it a worn look.

For protection, a coat of Mod Podge was applied to the jar.

A piece of twine was added around the neck of the jar to finish off this DIY beachy décor project. Wrapping the twine around the neck three times before tying a knot. Now all I need is some beach wood for my beach decor.
