Materials
I have used:-
125 grams of Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in color 1
70 grams of Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in color 2
5.50mm Clover crochet hook
GAUGE – 4hdc & 3 rows measures approx 1 inch
Base – With 5.50mm hook and color 1 ch6, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (5sc)
Row 2 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.
Rpt last row until 40 rows have been worked in all.
Do not Turn at the end of last row.
Body – Work 38sc evenly in row ends down first side of work to end, 1sc in each of next 5ch along cast on edge, 38sc evenly in row ends up second side, sl st to first sc. Turn. (86sc)
2nd Row – Working in back loop only, (RS) ch1, 1hdc in base of ch1, 1hdc in each sc to end, sl st to first hdc on beginning or row. Turn. (86hdc)
Working in hdc and through both loops, rpt last row until 22hdc rows have been worked. Fasten off.
You should have 23 rows worked including the sc row.
24th Row – Working in back loop only, using color 2, ch1, 1hdc in base of ch1, 1hdc in each hdc to end, sl st to first hdc on beginning of row. Turn.
Working through both loops, rpt last row 9 more times until 33 rows have been worked in all. Turn.
Bag Handles – ch1, 1hdc in base of ch1, 1hdc in each of next 9hdc, ch40, (handle) skip 23hdc, work 1hdc in each of next 20hdc, ch40, (handle) skip 23hdc, 1hdc in each of next 10hdc, sl st to first hdc on beginning of row. Turn.
Next Row – ch1, 1hdc in base of ch1, 1hdc in each of next 9hdc, work 40hdc around first handle, 1hdc in each of next 20hdc, work 40hdc around second handle, 1hdc in each hdc to end, sl st to first hdc on beginning of row. Turn. (120hdc)
Next Row – ch1, 1hdc in base of ch1, 1hdc in each hdc to end, sl st to first hdc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Picot Edge – Rejoin color 1 to loose loops where you changed to color 2 on (24th Row see pic) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, 1sc in each of next 3hdc, * rpt from * to * to last 3hdc, ch3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, 1sc in each of hdc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in loose ends of loose yarn and trim.
