Medium weight yarn (Size 4), approx. 175 yards needed

ch – chain

hk – hook
BLO – back loop only

Pattern:
Ch 92
Row 1: Hdc in the 3rd ch from the hk and in each ch across, turn. (90 sts)
Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc here and throughout), hdc in BLO of each st across, turn. (90 sts)
Row 3: Ch 2, hdc in next st, sk next st, hdc in the skipped st (crossed hdc made); repeat from * to * across, turn. (90 sts)
Rows 4–15: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 alternately, ending with Row 3. (You will repeat the 2-row sequence 6 more times.)
Row 16: Repeat Row 2. (90 sts)
Construction:
Lay the strip flat and overlap the short ends so they form a “V” shape at the front (you can choose either the right side or wrong side facing out).
With right side facing, sc evenly around the entire outer edge of the piece, working through both overlapping layers at the front “V” to secure them together.
Join with a sl st to the first sc.
Edging:
Ch 3 (counts as tr), tr in each st around, working 2 tr sts in the point of the “V” to shape the turn.
Join with a sl st to the top of beginning ch-3.
Fasten off.
Weave in all ends.
