For this project you’ll need:
HOOK: 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US

Each Skein was – 100 grams / 3.5. oz or 210 meters / 230 yards
SIZE
My blanket measured
Length: 39 inches / 100 cms
Width: 36 inches / 92 cms
Gauge
3 sts = 1 inch / 2.5 cms
ABBREVIATIONS
ch = Chain
sl st = Slip Stitch
sk a st = Skip a stitch
sts = Stitches
DC = Double Crochet
beg = beginning
DCFS = Double Crochet Foundation Stitch
Repeat what’s in between | for amount mentioned.
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row.
The Multiples of this stitch is 24 + 6 so feel free to make it wider if you want to go for a full size. Every 24 stitches is a block. The + 6 is what you need to add right before you start.
I used only one color on my crochet baby blanket, but if you did want to add a second color then I would do it on the border rows where you have just DC’s. Example, like Rows 1 or 11.
To Start
Multiples of the stitch are 24 + 6 or for DCFS 24 + 4
Baby size = Width 40 x 60 in or 101 cm x 152 cm – Ch 126 or DCFS 124
twin size = Width 65 x 90 in or 165 cm x 229 cm – Ch 198 or DCFS 196
If doing DCFS’s then skip to row 2.

THE BORDER
For the border I did a row of DC’s on both sides of my blanket only. Because the top and bottom row were already DC’s.
I slip stitched in top of corner stitch and chained 1. DC 2 in all side stitches of the DC’s. I added one DC and Ch 1 space to corners to make them look correct. So after your done with your DC’s down your row and you reach the top or bottom section again, just DC and ch 1 then slip stitch in first stitch of top or bottom stitch.
