Materials

For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
70 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK yarn
4.50mm crochet hook

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of 7 + 3.
Make 52ch loosely, work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into next ch, * make 2ch, miss 2ch, 1tr into each of next 5ch, * rpt from * to * to last 5ch, make 2ch, miss 2ch, 1tr into each of last 3ch. Turn.

2nd Row – 3ch, (RS) miss 2tr, work 6tr into next 2ch space, * miss 2tr, fptr (see abbrev) around next tr, miss 2tr, work 6tr into next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3tch, miss 2tr, work 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into each of the next 2tr, make 2ch, * miss next 2tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, work bptr (see abbrev) around next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, make 2ch, * rpt from * to * to last 4tr and 3tch, miss 2tr, 1tr into each of last 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

4th Row – 3ch, miss 2tr, work 6tr into next 2ch space, * miss 2tr, fptr around next tr, miss 2tr, work 6tr into next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3tch, miss 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt 3rd & 4th Rows until work measures approx 10.5 inches from beginning.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each of next 2tr, * 2dc into next 2ch space, 1dc into each of next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space, 2tr, and 3tch, work 2dc into 2ch space, 1dc into each of last 2tr, work 3dc into top of 3ch, 2dc into each row end down first side of cloth, 3dc into corner, 1dc into ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, 2dc into each row end up second side of cloth, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Working 3dc into each of the corners, make 1ch, work 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim off.
