Materials
– 12 inch Wreath Form (I used a grapevine wreath, but a foam or wire wreath would work too)
– Paper Mache Eggs (I used 48 eggs total)
– Gold Leaf
– Gold Leaf Adhesive (or Mod Podge)
– Craft Paint and Paint Brush
– Hot Glue Gun + Glue Sticks

Step 1: Paint all of the eggs. This is a bit tricky since they are round. I painted one side, let it dry, then painted the other side. It took two coats of paint to get good coverage.

Step 2: Use hot glue to attach eggs to the wreath form. I had to use a lot of glue to keep them securely in place since the grapevine wreath is uneven.

Step 3: Apply “speckles” of gold leaf adhesive to the eggs. I used Mod Podge instead, and it worked okay, but I think I would have gotten better results if I had used the adhesive specifically made for gold leaf.

Step 4: Let the adhesive dry until tacky, then gently press a sheet of gold leaf against the eggs. It will stick to the places where there’s adhesive. Let the adhesive dry completely overnight.

Step 5: Gently rub off the extra gold leaf. I used my fingers for most of it, then I used a clean, dry paint brush to dust off the loose flakes. When I was all done, I used a hair dryer to blow off the last stubborn bits of loose gold.
