For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn I have used:-
Small amounts of Stylecraft Special DK in each of colours 1, 2 & 3
4.50mm Clover crochet hook, 1 Decorative button
TENSION – 5dc and 3 rows of pattern measures approx 1 Inch
UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Using colour 1 make 16ch, (WS) 1dc into 2nd ch from hook 1dc into each of next 13ch, 2dc into last ch, working along opposite side of cast on edge, work 1dc into each of next 14dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (30dc)
Row 2 – Working into back loop only, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Row 3 – Working through both loops from now on rpt Row 2. Turn.
Row 4 – 3ch, 2tr into next dc, * miss 2dc, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss last 2dc, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn (10, 3tr groups)
Row 5 – Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (30dc)
Rpt Rows 4 & 5 in colour sequence as follows:-
Once in colour 2.
Once in colour 3.
Once in colour 1.
Once in colour 2.
Once in colour 3.
Once in colour 1.
Once in colour 2.
Working into dc not tr, join in colour 3, rpt Row 5 twice.
Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 23dc, make 20ch, 1dc into each of next 6dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work one row of 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in any loose ends of yarn, attach button to front of case and use chain loop to fasten.
