- Quantity: 10 balls (for this project).

- Crochet hook: 4.0 mm.
- Elastic thread: to add elasticity around the top edge.

Measurements & Fit
- Bust: Deduct 7β8 inches from your bust measurement to account for the pattern's stretchiness and to achieve the intended fitted look.
- Top length: Measure from underarm to desired hem length.
Pattern Overview
Foundation chain: Chain a length longer than needed — multiples of 8 + 1.
Row 1: Skip the first chain. Work the stitch sequence across the foundation: slip stitch in the third loop (as described), then continue with 4 slip stitches followed by 4 half double crochet (hdc) stitches. Repeat the 4 slip / 4 hdc pattern until reaching the row end. End with 4 slip stitches. If there are extra chains, cut and finish off the excess chains.

Row 2: Chain 1 and turn. Work only in the back loops for this row. Repeat the same alternating slip stitch and hdc sequence as Row 1. Make sure to end with 4 slip stitches that align with the previous row. Rows 3 & 4: Start these rows with 4 hdcs instead of slip stitches, then continue alternating 4 slip stitches with 4 hdcs. Chain 1 at the end of each row and repeat until the fabric reaches your desired width. Ensure the last rows worked are hdc rows for proper edge alignment.

Sleeves
Foundation chain: Chain to the length measured from underarm to wrist (or preferred sleeve length). The sleeve pattern uses the same 4 slip / 4 hdc repeat as the body; adjust length according to your measurement.

Assembly
Top tube: Fold the completed rectangular body piece to form a tube. With the fabric turned to the wrong side, seam the side using mattress stitch or slip stitch, matching hdc rows to slip-stitch rows as you go.
Sleeves: Seam each sleeve tube using the same method. Find and mark the midpoint of both the sleeve tube and the top body armhole. Align the sleeve midpoint with the top midpoint and stitch the sleeve in place, ensuring an even fit.
Ribbing & Elastic
Double crochet (dc) round: Attach yarn at the top edge and work an even round of double crochet stitches around the neckline/top edge, beginning with a chain 2 or 3 that counts as the first dc. Join the round with a slip stitch.
Front post / back post ribbing: Chain 3 and turn to the inside. Alternate front post and back post dc stitches around to create a ribbed band. Continue for multiple rounds until the ribbing measures about 5 inches or your preferred length. The ribbing should be elastic enough to help hold the top on the shoulders.
Adding elastic thread: Work a slip-stitch round to anchor elastic thread at desired intervals around the tube top. Slip stitch through the fabric detail loops and ensure the elastic is snug but not overly tight for comfort.
Finishing
Weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle. Try on the top and make any small adjustments needed for fit. Notes: Ensure final rows on top and sleeves are hdc rows for neat alignment. Modify measurements as needed for a custom fit.
Chart reference: Use your own width & length measurements according to your size chart. This completes the Almond off-shoulder top pattern — enjoy making and wearing your new piece!
