How to Make a Wine Cork Fairy House
Follow these simple steps to build a super-cute miniature fairy house. Keep your glue gun handy and work carefully when attaching small pieces.
1. Make the hanging loop: twist together strands of red and white yarn to form a spiraled cord for hanging. Tie both ends to secure the twist. You can substitute any yarn, twine or ribbon.
2. Create the roof: trace a 3" circle on a piece of scrapbook paper and cut it out. Adding scalloped edges gives the roof a decorative look.
3. Form the cone: cut from the edge to the center of the circle, then overlap the cut edges slightly to make a conical roof shape.
4. Attach a perch: cut a small 1" piece of dowel or skewer and glue it to the front bottom of the wine cork to act as a tiny perch or porch.
5. Add a door detail: glue a button above the dowel to resemble a door or decorative feature.
6. Thread the hanging loop: slide the ends of the twine through the slit in the paper roof and bring the loop through the top so the roof can be hung.
