Materials

• 6mm crochet hook.
• 2x100g balls of DK wool in green.
• 1x100g ball of DK wool in red.
• 1x50g ball of DK wool in brown.
• 1x25g ball of DK wool in yellow.
• Darning needle.
• Scissors.
• Stitch marker.

Finished sizes (approx.):

Large:

• Height – 11cm.
• Diameter – 18cm.

Small:

• Height – 11cm.
• Diameter – 12cm.

Elf Storage Basket Crochet Pattern: Small Basket

Main basket:

6mm hook, green wool, using 2 strands at the same time.

Make a magic ring, ch1, 10sc into ring (10sc).

Round 1: sc around (10sc).

Round 2: 2sc into each sc (20sc).

Round 3: 2sc into next sc, sc into next stitch. Repeat around (30sc).

Round 4: sc around (30sc).

Round 5: 2sc into next sc, sc into next two stitches. Repeat around (40sc).

Round 6: sc around (40sc).

Round 7: 2sc into next sc, sc into next three stitches. Repeat around (50sc).

Round 8: sc around (50sc).

Round 9: sc around in back loops only (50sc).

Rounds 10-13: sc around (50sc).

Change to brown.

Round 14: 22sc, ch2, skip 2sc, 2sc, ch2, skip 2sc, 22sc.

Rounds 15-16: sc around (50sc).

Round 17: 22sc, ch2, skip 2sc, 2sc, ch2, skip 2sc, 22sc.

Change to green.

Rounds 18-23: sc around (50sc).

Change to red.

Round 24: sc around (50sc).

Round 25: sc around in front loops only (50sc).

Round 26:

In UK crochet terms: *sc, half treble, treble, double treble, triple treble, ch2, slip stitch into 2nd ch from hook, triple treble, double treble, treble, half treble, sc. Repeat from * around.

In US crochet terms: *sc, half double, double, treble, double treble, ch2, slip stitch into 2nd ch from hook, double treble, treble, double, half double, sc. Repeat from * around.

Fasten off.

Belt buckles

6mm hook, yellow wool, using 2 strands at the same time.

ch8, sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc along rest of the row.

Fasten off leaving long thread to attach.

Sew belt buckles into place by threading through the gaps in the basket and sewing the two ends together on the inside of the basket.
