Equipment

1 Scissors
1 Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Materials
Pipe cleaners green, yellow, brown
1 Felt sheet(s)
1 Dowel rod(s) thin
Metal barrette clips optional

Instructions
Create your petals by first folding the pipe cleaner in half. Next, fold each half section in half to form an M, and then twist the two arms together where they were folded (the top points of the M).

Finally, bring both arms down to the initial fold (to Fold 1). Twist them together at the base and fluff them up to create a petal shape. Refer to the photo for visual instructions.

Create the center by coiling a black or dark brown pipe cleaner tightly. You can use 1 ½ or 2 pipe cleaners for a full-sized flower. Cut a piece of felt into a circle about the size of the circle you just made. Use hot glue to attach.

Attach the first layer of petals to the back of the brown center, making sure to space them evenly. Let cool. Once dry, attach your second layer.

To create the leaf, follow step 1, but use a green pipe cleaner. To create the stem, wrap green pipe cleaners tightly around a thin dowel, and secure the ends with hot glue.

Attach the stem to the flower using hot glue. Cut a small round piece of felt to cover the back. Use hot glue to attach the circle and finish.

Notes
TIP: For a smaller flower, you can cut the pipe cleaner in half before doing step 1.

If you create a smaller flower, they’re perfect as hair accessories! You can attach the flower to a barrette as shown below.
