Basic supplies: Mod Podge, wooden hexagon coasters, decorative napkins and acrylic paint.

Instructions

1. Apply a base layer of paint to all coasters. In this project coral and white were used for different coaster faces. Keep in mind napkins are very thin and the base color will show through the napkin design, so choose your base color accordingly.

Paint a base layer on each coaster; choose colors that complement your napkin design.

2. Once the paint is completely dry, apply a thin first coat of Mod Podge to the coaster surface. Don’t apply the Mod Podge too thickly to avoid bubbles and folds.

3. Separate the napkin layers so you have a single printed sheet to work with. Carefully position the napkin over the painted coaster, then gently press it down and smooth out any wrinkles.

Lay down the separated napkin layer and trim corners so the napkin lies flat on the hexagon coaster.

4. Apply Mod Podge to the sides of the coaster and press the tissue down. Trim excess napkin around corners as needed so the edges lie flat.

Use a brush to apply Mod Podge over the napkin and along the coaster edges.

5. After the first coat has dried, apply another full coat of Mod Podge over the entire coaster to seal the design. You can add additional coats of Mod Podge Hard Coat for extra durability, allowing each coat to dry fully before adding the next.

Let the coasters dry fully between coats; the final finish will be smooth and protective.

Tips: Work on a flat surface, use a soft brush or a foam applicator for smoother coverage, and handle napkins gently to avoid tearing. Allow coasters to cure for the recommended time on your Mod Podge product before regular use.
