Begin by tracing a rectangle the desired length on a piece of parchment (measure the diameter of your sandwiches or folded napkins first). Use your glue gun to trace around the rectangle, then zig-zag, swirl, and cross-hatch throughout the middle of the rectangle. Let the glue dry and peel it off the parchment, then repeat until you have as many pieces as you need.
Once dry, lay out all your hot glue rectangles on a large piece of parchment and paint with your selected acrylic colors. After painting, remove the rectangles and place them on a clean piece of parchment to fully dry — this prevents excess dried paint from sticking to the original parchment.
When fully dry, wrap each rectangle into a ring and add a touch of hot glue to the seam to join the ends. Slip them over napkins or around parchment- or wax-paper-wrapped sandwiches to finish.
Mix and match colors to suit holidays or party themes. These wraps and rings are a small detail that makes a big impression — imagine a tray of sandwiches each finished with a colorful wrap, or a place setting dressed up with a matching napkin ring.
