Give your Easter decor a playful twist with DIY Avocado Easter Eggs. This simple, family-friendly craft transforms plain hard-boiled eggs into cute avocado replicas by painting them green and adding a brown "pit" made from a gumball half. Quick to make and perfect for a crafting session with kids (with adult supervision for cutting and hot glue), these eggs add a whimsical touch to baskets, centerpieces, or party displays.

Materials:

• White hard-boiled eggs
• Gumballs (we bought gold ones from Party City)
• Hot glue gun
• Exacto or olfa knife
• Green craft paint or green egg dye
• Brown craft paint
• Small paintbrush

How To Make Avocado Easter Eggs

1. Paint or dye your eggs green. We painted ours with craft paint, but you can also use Easter egg dye. Allow each egg to dry completely before handling.
2. Carefully cut your gumball in half using an exacto or olfa knife. Take care and use a cutting mat; adult supervision is recommended for this step.
3. Paint both halves of the gumball with brown craft paint and allow them to dry completely.
4. Using a hot glue gun (again, with adult supervision), glue one painted gumball half to the front of your green egg to form the avocado "pit." Press lightly until the glue sets.

Tips:

• If you prefer not to use candy, small wooden beads or craft foam spheres can be substituted for the pit.
• Let paint dry between coats to avoid smudging. Work on a protected surface and wear gloves if desired when using hot glue.
• Display your avocado eggs in a nest of shredded paper, an egg carton, or as part of a spring centerpiece.
