Turn Old Jeans into a Stylish Framed Pocket Organizer — Easy DIY

Turn a worn pair of jeans into a handy and decorative desk organizer with this simple upcycling project. Using just an old pair of jeans, a picture frame, and scissors you can create a framed pocket that holds pens, pencils, brushes or other small items. Difficulty: Easy — a great quick craft for beginners.

Materials:

- Old jeans with back pockets

- Scissors

- Picture frame (glass will be removed)

- Optional: tape or glue to secure the pocket to the frame backing

Instructions:

1. Find an old pair of jeans with stable back pockets — each pocket makes one framed organizer.

2. Choose a picture frame slightly larger than the pocket so the pocket will sit neatly inside without bunching.

3. Test-fit the pocket over the frame backing to confirm it will fit when the frame is closed.

Cut the pocket out with an extra seam allowance (about 1/2 to 1 inch).

5. Leave extra denim around the pocket — this flap will be used to secure it to the frame backing.

Position the pocket on the frame backing with the glass removed.

6. Remove the glass from the frame (set it aside for another project) and place the cardboard backing on a flat surface.

7. Position the pocket face-up on the backing. If needed, trim excess fabric but leave enough to fasten the pocket securely behind the backing.

Trim any excess but leave enough to secure the pocket at the back.

8. If you want extra security, use a bit of double-sided tape or a few spots of glue on the back flaps to hold the pocket in place (optional).

9. Reassemble the frame without the glass, making sure the denim edges are tucked neatly inside so the pocket surface is smooth.
