DIY Spring Kite Wreath: Easy Step-by-Step Guide for Whimsical Door Decor
Bring a playful, springtime touch to your door or wall with a DIY Spring Kite Wreath. This cheerful craft combines a simple kite-shaped frame with colorful fabric, ribbons, and faux flowers to create a bright accent that welcomes the season. It's an easy, beginner-friendly project that uses basic supplies and a hot glue gun — perfect for a quick weekend craft session.
Materials you’ll need:
Small dowel rod
Scrap fabric
Ribbon
Flowers
Glue gun
I cut my dowel rod into two pieces – 19" and 15". Glue them together with a decent amount of hot glue and let dry completely.
The next step is just eyeballing it. I laid my fabric scrap face down and just cut around the edges of the dowel rods leaving enough excess to glue to the rods.
Trim any excess material that hangs over that you can see from the front.
With your coordinating ribbon, glue along the edges of the kite and through the middle intersection.
Hot glue some flowers to the base and one at the top and you’re ready to hang it!
Finish by adding a loop of ribbon or twine to the back for hanging, and adjust any glued elements so they sit neatly. Display your Spring Kite Wreath on an entry door, over a mantel, or on a wall to add a pop of color and a whimsical feel to your decor.
