Make Elegant Napkin Roses in Minutes — Easy Step-by-Step Guide
Impress your guests with elegant napkin roses — a simple, quick way to elevate any table setting. Using just a glass and a few napkins (paper or cloth), you can fold layered “petals” into a beautiful rose that works as a place setting accent or a low centerpiece.
Materials
- Wide-mouth glass (a wine glass works well)
- Paper or cloth napkins in desired sizes and colors
Instructions
- Fold one napkin in half and drape it over the rim of the glass, pressing the sides down so the napkin conforms to the outside of the glass. Note: if using multiple napkin sizes, start with the smallest napkin first.
- Repeat with a second napkin, overlapping about half of the first napkin to begin forming layered petals.
- Continue adding napkins (alternating colors if you like) until you have 5–8 layers and a nicely sized flower.
- When the layered flower is complete, carefully flip the glass over so the napkin base rests on the table or plate.
- Gently lift the glass straight up and away from the napkins, leaving the layered napkin rose on the table.
- Fluff and arrange the “petals” with your fingers until you achieve the desired look. Display roses in glasses, on plates, or grouped as a low centerpiece.
Tips: Cloth napkins give a fuller, more refined look and can be rinsed and reused; paper napkins are quick and disposable for large events. Varying napkin sizes and alternating colors produces more depth in the finished rose.
