Pattern

Chain 76.

Row 1: hbdc in the 3rd chain from hook. Ch 1, skip 1 stitch, hbdc, ch 1, skip 1 stitch. Repeat to the end. End with a hbdc. Ch 4, turn. (Ch 4 counts as the first hbdc and the first chain.)

Row 2: Skip one stitch, hbdc. *Ch 1, skip 1 stitch, hbdc.* Repeat * to end. End with a hbdc. Ch 4, turn. (Ch 4 counts as the first hbdc and the first chain.)

Repeat Row 2 until you have 40 rows (or desired length).

Border — Coral Bells, then White

Pull up a loop at any corner with Coral Bells. sc around evenly. Work 4 sc in each corner (2 sc on each side of the corner). For the sides, work 2 sc for each herringbone double crochet stitch and 1 sc for the top of each row. If the border ripples, try reducing to 2 sc in places as needed to even it out.

2nd row of border: change to White and do 4 more rows of single crochet. Knot and weave in ends using a tapestry needle. Cut off excess yarn. Enjoy!
