DIY Cork Easter Chicks — Easy Upcycled Spring Craft

Cork Easter Chicks are an adorable, low-waste decoration perfect for spring. Using recycled wine corks and a few basic craft supplies you can make a flock of cheerful chicks in minutes — a quick, kid-friendly project that adds a handmade touch to your Easter display.

You need corks, acrylic paint, brush, feathers and glue.

Paint the corks with yellow acrylic paint — two coats may be needed for full coverage.

First we paint the corks with yellow acrylic paint. Our corks need two coats of paint to be completely yellow.

When the paint has dried, we add beak and eyes. We use the end of a barbecue stick as a stamp to make the eyes.

Use the end of a skewer or barbecue stick to stamp simple round eyes on the dried paint.

Cut the top of a feather and glue it on the cork.

Glue a small feather to the top or back of the cork to create the chick's crest or tail feather.

Let the glue dry completely before handling. Display your cork chicks on a wreath, in a decorative bowl, or as place-card holders for Easter brunch. You can customize them by varying feather colors, paint shades, or adding tiny felt feet if you like.
