Below are clear step-by-step instructions and photos to guide you.
Fuzzy Pipe Cleaner and Cork Chick Craft
Supplies needed:
- Wine corks
- Yellow pipe cleaners
- Orange construction paper
- Small googly eyes
- Scissors
- School glue
You will need 3 yellow pipe cleaners per chick.

Follow these steps to make your own cork chick:

1. Take one yellow pipe cleaner and bend it about one-third of the way in. Make three small bends so it forms an extended "M" shape. Leave one end a bit longer than the other folds.

2. Bunch the folds together and wrap the longer end of the pipe cleaner around the remaining length to secure the wing shape.

3. Position the wing shape at the edge of the cork and begin wrapping the rest of that pipe cleaner around the cork. Tuck the end under the wrapped pipe cleaner to secure it. Repeat on the opposite side with a second pipe cleaner to create the other wing.

4. Take the third pipe cleaner, tuck one end under the already wrapped sections, and wrap it around the remaining exposed cork to cover the body. Tuck the final end under previously wrapped pipe cleaners to secure everything. Fluff and position the pipe cleaner loops to get the look you like.

5. Glue on two small googly eyes. Cut a small square of orange paper, fold it into a triangle and trim to a beak shape. Glue the beak in place beneath the eyes.

Tips and variations
- If you prefer a firmer attachment, use a hot glue gun (adult use only) instead of school glue.
- Vary colors — try pastel pipe cleaners for spring decorations or other colors for different characters.
- Add small accessories like a tiny ribbon or a loop of thread glued to the top to hang the chick as an ornament.
- Supervise children when using scissors and glue.
Now you have a cute, fuzzy cork chick — perfect for seasonal décor, gift toppers, or a quick craft with kids. Enjoy personalizing yours!
